This safari covers two of the best parks in Kenya that is Maasai Mara National Reserve and Amboseli National Park. While the Great Migration is a highlight, the Maasai Mara offers incredible wildlife viewing throughout the year. Amboseli National Park is the only park that gives you an opportunity to view large herds of elephants at a close range with the background of Mt Kilimanjaro, the highest standing mountain in Africa. Lake Naivasha covered in this safari is one of the most famous lakes on the floor of the great rift valley. You will also get a chance to visit the world famous Masai Mara National Reserve also known as the seventh wonder of the world.
Day 1: Nairobi – Amboseli National Park
You will be met at the airport or at your hotel by our office representative for safari briefing, you will then be introduced to your driver guide. Depart for Amboseli driving southwards to arrive in Amboseli in time for lunch at Amboseli Sentrim Camp, have a relaxed afternoon either in your room viewing the Kilimanjaro or at the swimming pool, enjoy an evening game drive at the famous Amboseli National park. It is renowned for its large herds of free-ranging African elephants. There are over 900 African elephants in Amboseli, as well as huge herds of wildebeests and many other animals including giraffes, African lions, monkeys, zebras, hyenas and antelope. With its awesome view of Mount Kilimanjaro (Africa’s highest mountain at 5,895m), Amboseli National Park offers a unique and breathtaking backdrop for viewing Africa’s animals. It also has a dry Pleistocene lake basin that houses a temporary lake, Lake Amboseli, after the rains. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight at Amboseli Kibo Camp
Day 2: Amboseli – Lake Naivasha
You wake up to spectacular scenes of the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro on a clear morning. After enjoying your breakfast, you will check out and proceed on the morning game drives till you exit the park. The drive to Lake Naivasha via Nairobi is a relaxing and scenic experience cutting across the serene country side. You will arrive in time for late lunch at Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort. Thereafter you leave to enjoy a refreshing boat ride in the lake where you get to see fish eagles hunting and many other water birds. Dinner and overnight at Naivasha Sopa Resort
Day 3: Lake Naivasha – Masai Mara
After breakfast you will depart for the world famous Maasai Mara, driving through the floor of the Great Rift Valley and passing through the Masai town of Narok and the sprawling Loita Plains to arrive in Masai Mara in time for lunch. Thereafter you can freshen up and relax before going on an afternoon game drive inside Masai Mara National reserve. You have good chances to see big cats in the expansive savanna and an African sunset. The Mara is home to the richest concentration of wildlife, including the “Big Five” (elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos, and buffalo) zebras, antelope, wildebeests, hyenas, giraffes, warthogs, gazelles, hartebeests, hippos, crocodiles and others. The park has the largest concentration of African lions, including the black-manned lions. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Mara Camp.
Day 4: Masai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, you will leave for a full day of game drives in the Masai Mara Game Reserve. You have good chances to see most of the Big Five. These include Lions, Elephants, Buffalo, Leopard and Rhino. The ultimate adventure is the annual wildebeest migration from July when millions of wildebeest move from the Serengeti into the Mara in search of lusher grass before turning back again in October. You break to have picnic lunch at a designated place in the jungle. Thereafter you enjoy more of game viewing as you return to your camp in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Sarova mara Camp
Day 5: Masai Mara – Nairobi
Enjoy a last early morning game drive with a chance to see the big cats hunting, return back to the hotel for breakfast before checking out and heading back to Nairobi, stop along the way at a local restaurant for a delicious local meal, proceed to Nairobi, the driver guide will drop you off at the airport or at your hotel.
